Christie, et al., v. NCAA et al<\/i>., No. 16-476 and <i>New Jersey Thoroughbred Horsemen\u2019s Association, Inc. v. NCAA<\/i> <i>et al<\/i>., No. 16-477).\u00a0 The consolidated <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scotusblog.com\/case-files\/cases\/christie-v-national-collegiate-athletic-association-2\/\">appeal<\/a>, which will be argued next term, urges the Supreme Court to reverse the <i>en banc<\/i> Third Circuit panel that refused to allow New Jersey to expand sports betting in that state.<\/p>\n<p class=\"DMBdyTxt\">This appeal and the potential nationwide consequences of reversing\u00a0the Third Circuit panel were the subject of an extended presentation and discussion at Duane Morris\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.duanemorris.com\/events\/future_of_sports_betting_0417.html\">Future of Sports Betting panel<\/a>, held on April 27, 2017.\u00a0 The panel included <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BergenBrennan\">John Brennan<\/a>, staff writer\u00a0for\u00a0<i>The Record<\/i>; <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AndrewBrandt\">Andrew Brandt<\/a>, Director of the Moorad Center for Sports Law at Villanova Law School; and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.duanemorris.com\/attorneys\/christopherlsoriano.html\">Christopher Soriano<\/a>, Partner at Duane Morris.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The U.S. Supreme Court announced today that it will\u00a0hear an appeal from the en banc Third Circuit in the closely watched and long-running New Jersey sports betting litigation (consisting of two consolidated cases, Governor Christopher J.
