We\u2019ve written about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.duanemorris.com\/alerts\/ameribor_can_most_boring_benchmark_america_replace_libor_0820.html\">Ameribor<\/a>\u00a0and highlighted some of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.duanemorris.com\/alerts\/ameribor_can_most_boring_benchmark_america_replace_libor_0820.html\">recent developments<\/a>\u00a0in its adoption. For the most part, support for Ameribor has come from smaller Main Street banks looking for a credit-sensitive rate that more closely matches the unsecured basis on which they borrow funds.<\/p>\n<p>On October 15, 2020, Bloomberg threw its hat into the ring with its\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/professional\/product\/indices\/bsby\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bloomberg Short Term Bank Yield Index<\/a>\u00a0(BSBY). After a couple of months of publishing the rate on an indicative basis, Bloomberg\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/company\/press\/bloomberg-launches-short-term-credit-sensitive-index-to-support-ibor-transition\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">launched the rate<\/a>\u00a0on January 20, 2021, and announced in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/company\/press\/bloombergs-bsby-short-term-credit-sensitive-index-now-available-for-u-s-loan-market\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">early March<\/a> that the rate is available for use as a replacement benchmark rate.
