These new school projects will be financed and administered through the New Jersey Schools Development Authority (\u201cSDA\u201d).<\/p>\n<p>The 20 projects set to advance in 2012 were divided into three categories addressing: 1) high educational priority needs; 2) high educational priority needs that require further discussions; and 3) serious facility deficiencies.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->1. Projects addressing high educational priority needs, representing a state investment of almost $675 million:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Gloucester City \u2013 Gloucester City Middle School<\/li>\n<li>Keansburg \u2013 Caruso Elementary School<\/li>\n<li>New Brunswick \u2013 Paul Robeson Community Elementary School<\/li>\n<li>Newark \u2013 Elliot Street Elementary School<\/li>\n<li>Newark \u2013 South Street Elementary School<\/li>\n<li>Passaic \u2013 Dayton Avenue Elementary School Campus<\/li>\n<li>Phillipsburg \u2013 Phillipsburg High School<\/li>\n<li>West New York \u2013 Memorial High School<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>2. Projects addressing high educational priority needs that require further discussions with the District:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Elizabeth \u2013 Elementary School grade level<\/li>\n<li>Garfield \u2013 Elementary School grade level<\/li>\n<li>Harrison \u2013 Middle School grade level<\/li>\n<li>Millville \u2013 High School grade level<\/li>\n<li>Paterson \u2013 Elementary School grade level<\/li>\n<li>Perth Amboy \u2013 All grade levels<\/li>\n<li>Union City \u2013 Elementary School grade level<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>3. Projects that address serious facility deficiencies:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Camden &#8211; Camden High School<\/li>\n<li>Hoboken \u2013 Thomas G. Connors Elementary School<\/li>\n<li>Orange \u2013 Cleveland Elementary School<\/li>\n<li>Orange \u2013 Orange High School<\/li>\n<li>Trenton \u2013 Trenton Central High School<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>According to the Governor, the 2012 Project Portfolio represents the Christie Administration\u2019s ongoing commitment to responsibly advance SDA projects in the most efficient manner, in a shift away from design excess, costly change orders and mismanagement. This year\u2019s class of projects was evaluated using the same factors established in 2011, including project standardization, total project completion costs, cost per student, and the project&#8217;s interrelationship with the district&#8217;s overall plan.
