The Council, however, did make an exception regarding the accessibility portion of the 2012 model code. Based on this vote, the Council is now charged with submitting a report to the Secretary of Labor and Industry by July 2012, and the bulk of the 2009 edition of the ICC\u2019s codes will remain the basis for Pennsylvania\u2019s uniform construction code.<\/p>\n<p>Because the 2012 I-Codes were not adopted, the ICC\u2019s new \u201cgreen building\u201d model code, called the International Green Construction Code will not be included in Pennsylvania\u2019s construction code.<\/p>\n<p>Many of Pennsylvania\u2019s construction trade organizations celebrated the Council\u2019s decision, because they believe the implementation of new codes would add additional costs that the construction industry cannot afford.
