On\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov\/coronavirus.html\"><u>March 16, 2020<\/u><\/a>, Alex Azar, the Secretary of Health and Human Services, has declared a public health emergency and, therefore, activated the telemedicine allowance under\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov\/21cfr\/21usc\/802.htm\"><u>21 U.S.C. \u00a7 802(54)(D)<\/u><\/a>.
