Jerald focuses his practice on commercial litigation, arbitration and mediation, having significant experience with complex commercial disputes both as a practitioner in a leading international law firm and as a former judicial officer.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re delighted to welcome Jerald to the firm,\u201d said Leon Yee, Chairman of Duane Morris &amp; Selvam. \u201cHe is a star hire and his extensive experience working for various multinational companies is a strong addition to our global dispute resolution capabilities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jerald&#8217;s areas of practice include cross-border disputes, company law, banking law, equity and trust, joint venture and shareholder disputes, restructuring and insolvency, fraud and asset recovery, international trade, oil and gas, employment and white-collar crime.<\/p>\n<p>Jerald is well-regarded for both complex commercial disputes and challenging criminal matters. The Honourable Chief Justice has praised Jerald\u2019s advocacy as \u201cthorough and of great assistance\u201d. A rare three-person High Court coram complimented Jerald for his \u201cvery comprehensive and cogent written and oral submissions\u201d and \u201cfor the diligence and care with which he applied himself as officer of the court\u201d. The Honourable Justice Chan Seng Onn also commended Jerald for his \u201ccomprehensive research, analysis and clear written submissions which were instrumental in helping the Court arrive at its decision\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am thrilled to be joining such a talented and ambitious team, which is dedicated to delivering results for its clients,\u201d said Jerald.<\/p>\n<p>Jerald was awarded a Distinction (Bachelor of Civil Law) at Mansfield College, University of Oxford, together with a College Prize for Distinguished Performance. Jerald also obtained First-Class Honours (Bachelor of Law) from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Concurrent with his legal practice, Jerald taught Company Law for two years as a Teaching Fellow at the National University of Singapore.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>About Selvam LLC<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>On 1 January 2011, Selvam LLC entered into a joint law venture with Philadelphia-based United States law firm Duane Morris LLP.
