{"id":72,"date":"2021-02-25T17:55:40","date_gmt":"2021-02-25T21:55:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.duanemorris.com\/esg\/?p=72"},"modified":"2021-02-25T17:55:40","modified_gmt":"2021-02-25T21:55:40","slug":"governor-murphy-selects-20-member-nj-council-on-the-green-economy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.duanemorris.com\/esg\/2021\/02\/25\/governor-murphy-selects-20-member-nj-council-on-the-green-economy\/","title":{"rendered":"Governor Murphy Selects 20 Member NJ Council on the Green Economy"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p>Early today, February 25, 2021, Governor Phil Murphy announced his 20 picks to\u00a0the newly created <strong>NJ Council on the Green Economy<\/strong> (&#8220;<strong>NJCOGE<\/strong>&#8220;).\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p>This Council on the Green Economy and the umbrella organization of the <strong>Office of Climate Action and the Green Economy<\/strong> are focused on \u201cbuilding a roadmap for transitioning the workforce into high-quality, family-sustaining clean energy jobs that will provide opportunities for all New Jerseyans\u201d per Governor Murphy.<br \/><br \/>As announced in the 2021 budget discussions, various state leaders believe that NJ&#8217;s recovery from the pandemic will be partly driven by the <strong>clean energy economy<\/strong> \u2013 one centered around clean power sources and offshore wind and on shore solar.<br \/><br \/>Governor Murphy\u2019s $44.8 billion\u00a0plan discussed in his Budget Address on February 23rd calls for $200 million to be invested in an \u201c<strong>offshore wind port<\/strong>\u201d in Camden County along the Delaware River.
