{"id":1059,"date":"2025-10-28T12:07:12","date_gmt":"2025-10-28T16:07:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.duanemorris.com\/europeansanctionsenforcement\/?p=1059"},"modified":"2025-10-28T12:07:13","modified_gmt":"2025-10-28T16:07:13","slug":"united-kingdom-ofsi-annual-reports-provides-enforcement-figures","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.duanemorris.com\/europeansanctionsenforcement\/2025\/10\/28\/united-kingdom-ofsi-annual-reports-provides-enforcement-figures\/","title":{"rendered":"United Kingdom &#8211; OFSI annual reports provides enforcement figures"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>OFSO has published its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/ofsi-annual-review-2024-25-effective-sanctions\">Annual Report for 2024-2025<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This includes the following figures:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>57 &#8220;enforcement actions&#8221; which includes fines, disclosures, warning letters and referrals to regulators;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 fines during the period (there have been more since), although it adds that &#8220;many cases under active investigation are expected to come to decision points in 2025-2026&#8221;;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>As at April 2025 OFSI had 240 &#8220;active cases under investigation&#8221;;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Of the 394 new cases in 2024-2025, 180 were not the result of a self report (i.e. these cases were the result of pro-active investigation).\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Of these 394, most were in the financial services sector (142), with the legal sector providing the next most (46);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Very few investigations concerned either manufacturing (8) or the maritime sector (7)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>329 of the new cases concerned the UK&#8217;s Russian sanctions;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>OFSI closed 214 cases during the annual period.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>OFSO has published its Annual Report for 2024-2025.
