{"id":1223,"date":"2026-05-08T05:49:55","date_gmt":"2026-05-08T09:49:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.duanemorris.com\/europeansanctionsenforcement\/?p=1223"},"modified":"2026-05-08T05:49:56","modified_gmt":"2026-05-08T09:49:56","slug":"poland-publication-of-sanctions-enforcement-statistics-including-138-fines-imposed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.duanemorris.com\/europeansanctionsenforcement\/2026\/05\/08\/poland-publication-of-sanctions-enforcement-statistics-including-138-fines-imposed\/","title":{"rendered":"Poland &#8211; publication of sanctions enforcement statistics including 138 fines imposed"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The government of Poland <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.pl\/web\/finanse\/wicepremier-radoslaw-sikorski-podsumowal-dzialania-miedzyresortowego-zespolu-ds-sankcji\">has issued a press release<\/a> detailing its efforts to date on the enforcement of the EU&#8217;s sanctions against Russia and Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My thanks to Dr Marcin Lukowski for drawing this release to the blog&#8217;s attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To date Poland has:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>imposed fines of PLN 74.4m (c. \u20ac18m) across 138 separate fining decisions; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>in the first quarter of 2026 there are:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>191 pending cases;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>122 cases where an individual has been identified as a suspect (&#8220;charged&#8221; in Polish terminology);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>13 indictments filed; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>10 final judgments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The government also states that it has frozen \u20ac546.2m in assets, and that nearly 56% of all EU customs alerts originate from Poland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As per our <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.duanemorris.com\/europeansanctionsenforcement\/2025\/09\/22\/poland-updated-statistics-on-the-42-imposed-sanctions-fines\/\">earlier post from September 2025<\/a> &#8211; at that stage Poland had imposed 42 fines for a total of PLN 26.6m or \u20ac6.2m, meaning the number of fines, and the value of fines imposed, has nearly tripled since September last year.<\/p>\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The government of Poland has issued a press release detailing its efforts to date on the enforcement of the EU&#8217;s sanctions against Russia and Belarus.
