{"id":667,"date":"2024-07-18T11:57:46","date_gmt":"2024-07-18T15:57:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.duanemorris.com\/europeansanctionsenforcement\/?p=667"},"modified":"2024-07-18T11:57:46","modified_gmt":"2024-07-18T15:57:46","slug":"poland-updated-enforcement-statistics-with-new-proceedings-and-new-fines","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.duanemorris.com\/europeansanctionsenforcement\/2024\/07\/18\/poland-updated-enforcement-statistics-with-new-proceedings-and-new-fines\/","title":{"rendered":"Poland &#8211; updated enforcement statistics with new proceedings and new fines"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Polish authorities have released <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polskieradio.pl\/395\/7786\/artykul\/3404503,fines-for-polish-firms-evading-eu-sanctions-on-russia-belarus\">updated enforcement statistics<\/a> showing changes since those release just a few weeks ago.<\/p>\n<p>The new data confirms:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>51 administrative proceedings commenced (up from 48 on 1 July)<\/li>\n<li>37 final decisions taken (up from 33 on 1 July)<\/li>\n<li>24 fines imposed to date (up from 22 on 1 July)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Further, in response to a Freedom of Information request made on behalf of this blog, the Polish Ministry of Finance has provided \u00a0the following data (available here: <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.duanemorris.com\/europeansanctionsenforcement\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/65\/2024\/07\/MF-do-M.-Handleya-odpowiedz-na-wniosek-2879.2024-1.pdf\">MF do M. Handley&#8217;a odpowied\u017a na wniosek 2879.2024<\/a>):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>12 of the fines imposed for breaches of EU Regulation 833\/2014 with a total of fines of 1,513,244.00 zloty (c. \u20ac353,326);<\/li>\n<li>2 of the fines imposed for breaches of EU Regulation 269\/2014 with a total of fines of 451,946 zloty (c. \u20ac105,000); and<\/li>\n<li>10 of the fines imposed for breaches of the Polish 2022 sanctions regulation for total fines of 18,868,137 zloty (c. \u20ac4,405,000).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>No other European country has imposed so many fines for breaches of Russian sanctions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Polish authorities have released updated enforcement statistics showing changes since those release just a few weeks ago.
