{"id":680,"date":"2024-07-31T06:22:11","date_gmt":"2024-07-31T10:22:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.duanemorris.com\/europeansanctionsenforcement\/?p=680"},"modified":"2024-07-31T06:22:11","modified_gmt":"2024-07-31T10:22:11","slug":"luxembourg-financial-crime-units-report-of-sanctions-investigations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.duanemorris.com\/europeansanctionsenforcement\/2024\/07\/31\/luxembourg-financial-crime-units-report-of-sanctions-investigations\/","title":{"rendered":"Luxembourg &#8211; Financial Crime Unit&#8217;s report of sanctions investigations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Luxembourg&#8217;s Financial Intelligence Unit (the CRF) has published its <a href=\"https:\/\/justice.public.lu\/fr\/organisation-justice\/crf.html\">Annual Report<\/a> which includes statistics on sanctions-related SARS and investigations, as well as an indication of funds frozen as part of these investigations.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>160 instances of suspicion of breaches of sanctions reported since 24 February 2022:\n<ul>\n<li>23 were in 2022;<\/li>\n<li>100 were in 2023; and<\/li>\n<li>36 so far in 2024<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>15 information requests have been sent out by the CRF in relation to possible sanctions evasion:\n<ul>\n<li>2 in 2022;<\/li>\n<li>13 in 2023; and<\/li>\n<li>no indication of the number sent so far in 2024.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>the CRF has also blocked \u20ac45,958,887.91 in relation to two suspected cases of sanctions evasion.
