{"id":744,"date":"2024-10-04T05:05:23","date_gmt":"2024-10-04T09:05:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.duanemorris.com\/europeansanctionsenforcement\/?p=744"},"modified":"2024-10-04T05:05:25","modified_gmt":"2024-10-04T09:05:25","slug":"netherlands-prosecution-service-seeks-2-year-sentence-and-confiscation-for-dual-use-and-other-exports-to-russia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.duanemorris.com\/europeansanctionsenforcement\/2024\/10\/04\/netherlands-prosecution-service-seeks-2-year-sentence-and-confiscation-for-dual-use-and-other-exports-to-russia\/","title":{"rendered":"Netherlands &#8211; Prosecution Service seeks 2-year sentence and confiscation for dual-use and other exports to Russia"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Dutch Prosecution Service has issued a press <a href=\"https:\/\/www.om.nl\/actueel\/nieuws\/2024\/10\/03\/om-eist-24-maanden-cel-wegens-omzeiling-russische-sancties\">release<\/a> stating that they are seeking a sentence for a 42-year old individual consisting of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>i) a 24 month custodial sentence of which 10 months is suspended;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ii) confiscation of all the proceeds of crime obtained from the breaches of sanctions; and<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>iii) forfeiture of the company&#8217;s stock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As per our earlier posts the man <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.duanemorris.com\/europeansanctionsenforcement\/2023\/07\/18\/netherlands-man-arrested-on-suspicion-of-breaching-russian-trade-sanctions\/\">was arrested<\/a> in July 2023, for exports of electronic components and other dual use goods to Russia via Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
