{"id":956,"date":"2025-07-08T11:32:39","date_gmt":"2025-07-08T15:32:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.duanemorris.com\/europeansanctionsenforcement\/?p=956"},"modified":"2025-07-08T11:32:40","modified_gmt":"2025-07-08T15:32:40","slug":"malta-fines-and-prosecutions-for-sanctions-violations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.duanemorris.com\/europeansanctionsenforcement\/2025\/07\/08\/malta-fines-and-prosecutions-for-sanctions-violations\/","title":{"rendered":"Malta &#8211; fines and prosecutions for sanctions violations"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>As <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.duanemorris.com\/europeansanctionsenforcement\/2024\/04\/29\/malta-first-fine-imposed-by-sanctions-monitoring-board\/\">previously posted<\/a> Malta&#8217;s Sanctions Monitoring Board maintains a page or listing companies that have been subjected to a fine of greater than \u20ac800 for sanctions breaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/smb.gov.mt\/news\/list-of-individuals-and-entities-subject-to-publication-in-terms-of-article-195-of-the-national-interest-enabling-powers-act\/\">page has now been updated<\/a> to include the fact of a fine against:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Felicitas Trust Limited based on a &#8220;supervisory examination conducted between April and May 2023&#8221;; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Winzon Group Ltd based on a &#8220;supervisory examination conducted between February and March 2024&#8221;.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>No other information is provided, including which sanctions regime was involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Separately, the <a href=\"https:\/\/smb.gov.mt\/latest-news\/malta-delivering-on-the-eu-sanctions-packages-implementation-in-practice\/\">SMB has issued an update<\/a> on Malta&#8217;s implementation of the EU&#8217;s Russian sanctions.
