and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.duanemorris.com\/alerts\/texas_federal_court_enjoins_ftc_enforcing_ban_noncompetes_against_parties_lawsuit_refuses_0724.html\">July 3<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.duanemorris.com\/alerts\/pennsylvania_federal_court_denies_injunction_dealing_further_blow_efforts_halt_ftcs_ban_0724.html\">24<\/a>, 2024), after initially proposing the rule in January 2023, in April 2024 the Federal Trade Commission (FTC)\u00a0voted 3-2 to approve a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ftc.gov\/system\/files\/ftc_gov\/pdf\/noncompete-rule.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">final rule<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Banning noncompete agreements with virtually all workers 120 days after publication in the Federal Register (<i>i.e.<\/i>, on September 4, 2024);<\/li>\n<li>Invalidating existing noncompetes with all workers except senior executives;
