In appreciation of veterans’ service and in the days surrounding Veterans Day (November 11), Duane Morris is proud to collaborate with a number of organizations to provide pro bono aid to veterans, service members and military families.
Duane Morris offices across the United States will partner with the Veteran Advocacy Project in New York, Swords to Plowshares in San Francisco, the Homeless Advocacy Project in Philadelphia, the John Marshall Veterans School of Law Legal Support Center & Clinic in Chicago, the Veterans Legal Assistance Project Clinic in Washington, D.C. and Veterans Legal Services in Boston to assist on issues related to veterans benefits and resources, discharge upgrade intakes, tax, estate planning, bankruptcy, corporate/business law and other civil legal matters.
In addition to these events, the firm is hosting seminars to educate attorneys on navigating the process of disability benefits appeals and discharge upgrades before the Board of Veterans Appeals (“BVA”) and the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims (“CAVC”), as well as other veteran-specific concerns.
Since Duane Morris’ inception more than 100 years ago, pro bono work and volunteerism have been integral aspects of the firm’s culture and character. This tradition continues as we team up with veterans groups to serve those who have served.
