New Jersey No Longer Permitting Indoor Dining on July 2

Earlier today, Gov. Phil Murphy announced that indoor dining will no longer be permitted later this week as part of New Jersey’s Reopening Plan. Initially, indoor dining was supposed to be able to resume this week on Thursday, in time for the Fourth of July weekend. Given the rising number of cases in other States and the crowds expected this weekend for the 4th of July, the Governor has opted to slow down the reopening of indoor dining.

Small Business Administration Releases Revised Eligibility Rules for Paycheck Protection Program

On June 24, 2020, the Treasury Department and Small Business Administration released an interim final rule updating eligibility criteria for Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans made under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) and the Paycheck Protection Program Flexibility Act.

The June 24 interim final rule loosens the eligibility criteria that applied to owners of 20 percent or more of a PPP loan borrower’s equity, specifically concerning the criminal histories of such owners. In addition, the June 24 interim final rule confirms certain other eligibility criteria that will remain in place.

FDA Issues Temporary Policy on Distribution of Drug Samples During COVID-19

In response to the ongoing COVID-19 public health emergency, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a temporary policy related to the distribution of drug samples. Recognizing the unique challenges currently facing manufacturers that distribute drug samples as part of marketing efforts and the healthcare providers requesting those samples for patients, the FDA is temporarily easing certain requirements of the Prescription Drug Marketing Act.
