Further to our earlier post, the Federal Prosecutor’s Office has issued a press release confirming charges against Ulli S for exports to Russia in breach of EU sanctions.
As stated in the press release:
“In spring 2015, the accused concluded three contracts with a Russian arms manufacturer for the delivery of a total of six machine tools and accessories. The machines were needed for the serial production of sniper rifles. To conceal the transactions, Ulli S. used other companies he founded as well as another Russian company. The deliveries also took place in the summer and autumn of 2015 using third-party companies via Switzerland, in one case via Lithuania. The order volume for the sale of the machines was around two million euros. A contract with the Russian arms manufacturer also included setting up the machines and training employees. Employees of the accused provided these services in 2015 and 2016.
In addition, at the beginning of 2015, the accused purchased four sniper rifles from the Russian business partner through his company for test purposes at a price of 22,000 euros and imported them into Germany. In order to pretend that there was an old contract that was not subject to the embargo, Ulli S. predated the purchase contract by one year”.
